Before you order

Terms of service

By requesting a commission, you agree to the terms below. Please read them before sending your request.

  1. General terms

    • A commission slot is reserved once you send the request form and I confirm it with you.
    • I may turn down any request.
    • Please don’t edit, alter or resell a commissioned piece without my permission.
    • Commissioned work may not be used for NFTs, for training AI, or for AI-generated art of any kind.
    • When you share the piece, credit me clearly somewhere easy to see — for example “art by Kuro Kumo”.
  2. Payment

    • Payment is made through PayPal, in US dollars (USD). Other currencies and payment methods aren’t accepted.
    • Illustrations are paid in full up front. I start working as soon as the full payment arrives.
    • For larger projects, a payment plan may be possible — message me and we can talk it through.
  3. Timeline & delivery

    • Your finished piece is delivered within three months of the day I start working on it.
    • On a tight deadline? A rush fee of 30% moves your commission to the front of my queue, with delivery in about 1–3 weeks depending on the piece.
  4. Revisions

    • You can ask for changes at three stages: the sketch, the rendering, and the finishing touches.
    • Changes requested after the piece is finished cost extra — unless they fix a misunderstanding on my side.
  5. Cancellations & refunds

    • If I can’t start your commission, or can’t deliver it on time, you’ll get a full refund.
    • You can cancel for a full refund at any time before I begin work on your piece.
    • Once work has started, refunds are no longer available.
    • Please don’t open a PayPal chargeback. Message me first — if your cancellation fits the terms above, I’ll refund you directly.
  6. Copyright & usage

    • I keep the copyright to the artwork I create, including the right to share it on social media and use it to promote my work — unless we agree otherwise.
    • You’re welcome to enjoy your commission for personal use — as a wallpaper, a profile picture, a print for your own wall, or a credited post — as long as you don’t make money from it or hide or deny that I made it.
    • Commercial rights, including merchandise, stay with me. Keeping them is part of how I keep my prices affordable.
    • Want full or partial rights, commercial use, or a piece that stays private and is never posted? That’s open to negotiation — mention it in your request and we’ll agree on the terms and price together.
    • Fan art is different: I own my artwork, but the characters and series belong to their creators, so I can’t grant any rights to them. Fan art commissions are for personal use only, with no merchandise or other commercial use.
    • Whenever I share a commissioned piece, I’ll respect your original request and what it was made for.

These terms cover commissions only. Buying an original from the Art Shop? Its buying policies are on the shop page.
